Glass Widgets

Today's app (OK, I'll admit it is only a widget) of the day is Glass Widgets.

Glass Widgets is a set of three 4 x 1 widgets that provide android users with the chance to have almost all their important information on a single home screen. Glass Widgets is sleek, simple and attractive, but incredibly easy to set up and configure. The basic information that can be displayed on each of the three widgets is as follows:

  • Temp/Weather/Time (all on a single 4 x 1 widget)
  • Date and upcoming calendar events (on another 4 x 1 tile) and
  • News (on another 4 x 1 tile, set up by loading pre-determined RSS feeds or entering one of your own).

As you can see, Glass Widgets looks great, sitting cleanly on a tinted background which makes it simple to see, even on quite "busy" backgrounds.

In the words of the developers:

Yet another set of basic home screen widgets.
They are designed to provide you with the most important information at a glance, yet still allow you to enjoy the sight of your (Live-) wallpaper.
This package contains:
* Glass Clock Widget
Enter a city name, or use geolocation to automatically find your location. Add more than one clock widget to your home screen in order to follow the time and weather around the world.
* Glass Calendar Widget
See the current date, along with the next three events in your calendar.
* Glass News Widget
Read your favorite RSS/Atom feeds from your home screen. Select one of the build in feeds (BBC, Reuters, WIRED ect.) or add your own custom feed.
* Glass All-In-One Widget
All the above widgets combined into one big 4x3 widget. This is for those of you on platforms where the three separate widgets don't line up properly.
So, if you are tired of the default clocks and calendars that come loaded on your device, give Glass Widgets a try. I doubt you will be disappointed!
