In the interests of full disclosure, it is necessary for me to admit that I am married, so my experience with this app (for the purposes of creating this review), is entirely theoretical! That aside, in my brief time using the app, whilst thinking back to my single years, it was easy to see that Break the Ice has lots of potential!
The premise of Break the Ice is to help you find single people close to you (preferably in the same bar, shop, restaurant, etc) using the location capabilities of your smartphone. Once the app is installed and 'close by' people are located, you can anonymously say 'Hi". If the other person is interested in chatting, they can also say 'Hi', at which point the profiles of each person will be fully revealed (and with it, the anonymity). This is known as a 'match' and from there, you can freely chat with your 'matched' friends.
As with any social based apps, the key to success is obviously popularity. As the app is only new, there are not many people out and about, but this will surely increase over time. This is aided by a sleek, modern user interface that makes navigating around the app a a breeze.
All in all, once a few more users get on board, Break the Ice! will have the user base to back up what is already a sleek social networking / dating app, and with both iOS and Android versions availability, it might not be long before singles everywhere are 'Breaking the Ice' in an entirely new manner!

How BREAK THE ICE Works
•Set-up a simple profile. It only takes a few minutes
•Go to “Check the Scene” to scan through the people in your area. Check out their pics & profiles. The app will show all people nearby, not just the ones you can match with
•Say “Hi” to those you are interested in. They won’t know it is you
•Those users will receive a simple notification that someone nearby is interested
•They likewise go to “Check the Scene”, check out photos & profiles, and anonymously say “Hi” to people they are interested in
•If both people say “Hi” to each other, the app will let them know there is a match and will allow chatting back and forth
•If no match occurs, they won't know it is you that said “Hi”. It is all anonymous
•You can either initiate the first “Hi” or wait for others to say “Hi” to you
•Many more fun features such as group profiles to include your friends, track your stats & check out your favorite spots before you head out
