Today's app of the day is Caricature Me - Photo Deformer.

Ever since first learning to use photo manipulation programs on my PC, I have always enjoyed warping the faces of friends and family to make them look truly 'unique'. Whether it be giving someone an extra small head, or enormous bug like eyes, there is always a sense of satisfaction, along with a small chuckle, to be had from such a creation. With Caricature Me, manipulating images has never been easier, allowing you to easily warp, manipulate, and 'caricaturise' any photo you have in your collection.




The first thing you will need is images. Thanks to the open nature of the Android ecosystem, then can be sources directly from within Caricature Me from any application on your device, including your standard gallery, but also DropBox, SkyDrive, etc. If you do not have an image saved, you can also take snaps directly from your devices camera. Once you have selected an image it is simply a matter of deciding how creative you want to be.

For the most simplistic user, Caricature Me allows for the quick manipulation of an image through pre-set tools. Want to give the image a huge smile, a large nose, miniature eyes? This can all be achieved through the press of a single button. For the more advanced user, once an image is loaded a more advanced set of tools are available to assist with the manipulation of an image.

These more advanced tools include a general ‘finger’ tool to push the image around, shrink and enlarge buttons, swirl buttons, an eraser and even a ‘bomb’ button to explode parts of the image. Even the most uncreative user will have no problem manipulating the most average of faces into some unique.

Once an image has been finalised, it can be viewed as a ‘morph’ from the original to the ‘caricaturised’ version. This is a great / entertaining way to the havoc you have wreaked on a friends face! One of the coolest features of Caricature Me is the ability to save these morphs as animated gif’s. This will be enough to spice up any Tumblr account! In addition, images can me MMS’d, shared on Facebook, or simply saved on your device for later use.
