Fruit Worm is a novel variation on the classic game of Snake, whereas instead of controlling a snake, you control a worm. As a worm you have to navigate yourself through over 420 levels, collecting pieces of fruit to make yourself grow.
What really sets Fruit Worm apart (for me) when compared to other snake games is the innovative control scheme. The best option is simply to tap either side of the screen, and your worm will turn slowly in that direction. The longer you hold your finger, the further the worm will rotate. This essentially gives your worm 360 degrees of movement, which is a fundamental difference to your more typical snake games in which movement is restricted to 4 directions.
This expanded world of movement is unique, but also challenging, as it becomes all to easy to crash back into yourself or gently nudge into a wall instead of sliding effortlessly along it. This challenge is not a bad thing though, with every level being small and simple enough to repeat a handful of times without getting frustrated.
All in all, Fruit Worm is an excellent app, worthy of a try on any Android device.
In the words of the developer:
Fruit Worm is a fun game for all ages where you need to guide the worm to eat as much fruit as possible... You have limited time before the fruit spoils! It is a simple arcade style theme inspired by the classic "snake" game. There are 9 worlds to conquer with a total of 420 levels to unlock. There is also hidden treasure to discover and bonus caverns to earn extra points along the way.
