FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Ghost Guide USA

Today's app of the day is Ghost Guide USA.

With Halloween fast approaching, there has never been a better time to learn about the 1000's haunted locations scattered all over the USA. No matter where in the States you call home, there will no doubt be something paranormal closer occurring closer than you may think.

With over 1000 haunted locations captured in Ghost Guide USA, plus over 900 high quality images of the haunted locations, there is hours of reading to be had on your phone or tablet. Importantly, if you have had any first hand experiences of the haunted locations, you can leave your own comments and stories, or email the developers if there are any locations that have been missed.

Once Ghost Guide USA is booted up, you will be presented an option to view the haunted locations either on a Map (which features fantastic Google Maps / location services integration), or as a list. One of the best things I like about this app is that the first time it is used, it automatically downloads all the data required for the app to work offline in the future. This is great if you are out and about and don't want to wait for information to download.  Since the app has such a vast amount of data, be patient the first time it is booted up.You will see the updating icon in your notifications bar. Best of all, once it is done - all the application information will be at your fingertips. I honestly wish more apps included this functionality!

Anyway, once you start exploring this app, the vast amount of information will truly blow you away. When viewed in list form, you can scroll for what seems an eternity looking at images and reading about all the haunted sites the developers could find. The images are also great, giving you a real sense of the locations you are reading about.

Given the size of the list, it includes some handy functionality / sorting options to make viewing easier. These include sorting by rating, distance (sure to be a favorite during Halloween!), alphabetical order or by State / City. As I have earlier stated, I am sure most people will learn of a few sites close by that they were not previously aware of!

All in all, Ghost Guide USA is a great Android App, and will sure be a hit this Halloween - tell your friends!

Sample Stories:
St. Paul's Chapel Burial Ground - New York NY
The burial ground of this Episcopal Church is haunted by the headless ghost of English actor George Frederick Cooke. Cooke died in September 1811 and was buried headless after donating his head to science to pay for doctor's bills, and his skull was used in numerous productions of Hamlet.
Bird Cage Theater - Tombstone, AZ
The basement poker room is said to be the site of the longest-running poker game in history. Played continuously 24 hours a day for eight years, five months, and three days, legend has it that as much as 10 million dollars changed hands during the marathon game, with the house retaining 10 percent. Some of the participants were Doc Holliday, Bat Masterson, Diamond Jim Brady, and George Hearst. The theater is said to be haunted and has been featured in the paranormal investigation shows Ghost Hunters in 2006, and Ghost Adventures and Ghost Lab in 2009.

***Notes From AlamoApps***
-Give the app about a couple minutes after install to download all the locations.
-This application utilizes your device GPS to give you the distance to haunted locations. Distance calculations may take a few minutes as this app determines your current location.
-We are continually adding information to this application. Gathering all the information to publish this app is a large task and we recognize that we do not have every ghost in the United States identified! Nor, do we have the details of every location. If you know of more locations for us to add, or comments on our current locations, please send us a note or visit our website at

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Cosmic Cow

Today's app of the day is Cosmic Cow.

"Endless" games are very in vogue at the moment, whether it be endless running, endless jumping or endless flapping, there are plenty of ways to get unlimited, and challenging gaming fixes. That doesn't mean that there aren't great new games being created in the genre, with Cosmic Cow being one such example.

In essence, Cosmic Cow combines two great styles of game play, one being a side scrolling endless-type game, and the other being the classic side scrolling space ship shooter, popularised in numerous incarnations on 8 and 16 bit consoles of decades past. As a "cosmic cow" (can't help but love it!), the player has to navigate through space, shooting or dodging asteroids and other attacking spaceships. The cow can collect a variety of objects to earn points - though mainly interesting foods that just happen to be floating through space. As points are accumulated, the player can also collect coins to spend on a v…
