Sketchy Snaps

Today's app of the day is Sketchy Snaps.


Sketchy Snaps is a new Android App that allows you to easily manipulate images, with a variety of preset effects. There 25 effects in total, ranging from sketch styles such as pencil, crayons, charcole, etc, but also including some great templates such as 'news' which make the image appear to be incorporated into a news article.



It really will be all about trial and error until you find some effects that suit the particular image you like. Images can be loaded up from your phones gallery, or taken directly from the camera.

Finally, once you have finished manipulating an image, it can be shared through available apps on your device, or saved locally for use at a later point in time. All in all, this is an excellent app, well worth the download. For free (albeit with a watermark), the price is definitely right!

How it works?

It is very easy to convert to sketches using Sketchy Snaps
An Image stored in the gallery of your device can be used or a new photograph can be taken with the built in camera.
Select the required image
Pan and Zoom to get the desired portion of the image > presss select button
In the bottom of the page the available effects are displayed. Press the desired button. Thats all with in seconds you will get the sketched image.
Then save it using the save button in the action bar located at the top of the screen.
The sketched image can be shared with Facebook, Google+ and other Social Media networks, mail etc.,

Orange Technologies is the developer of Sketchy Snaps. This Pro version comes with 21 different effects and a watermark. Once you have checked it out, you can upgrade to the premium one, which has the same effects but leaves no watermark. While the app works well, it may take some time to load the effect. Besides that, we strongly recommend it if you're into art, design or photo editing and want to give your pictures an artistic look.
