FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

KlearKeys Transparent Keyboard

Today's app of the day is KlearKeys Transparent Keyboard.

Do you often find that when using the default android keyboard (or most other keyboards offered by third party developers), that the keys take up 80% of your screen, leaving only a tiny rectangle to view what is happening on the device. This might be OK for occasional text entry, but when you are using software or a website that requires more frequent or constant text entry, it really does take away from the user experience.

The solution is an excellent Android app called KlearKeys Transparent Keyboard. On top of being highly customisable, its primary selling point is the fact that is can me made transparent so that you can see what is happening 'behind' the keys. The transparency can range from entirely see through, to more 'shaded', the freedom is entirely up to the user.

In addition, KlearKeys features great customisation, including the ability to create split keyboards (half on each side of the screen), full screen keyboards, and even micro keyboards - the size of the keyboard is entirely changeable. Finally, KlearKeys features a great shift key, which takes advantage of multi-touch technology to replicate the shift key on a normal PC. Why this isn't the default setting for all multi-touch devices blows me away!

All in all, this is a great app that I am sure many readers will find useful. Check it out.

In the words of the developer:

KlearKeys Transparent Keyboard - Type with Clarity.

Bored with grey keys on a grey background? No problem. KlearKeys lets you pick whatever colour you want for the keyboard background and key text. It also comes with dozens of different key images allowing you to get that look just right. Do you miss the way the shift key works on your hardware keyboard? No problem. KlearKeys takes advantage of multi-touch screens by providing a true shift key that shifts keys when pressed and un-shifts them when released.Ideal for tablets and large screen devices but works with any device running Android 3.1 and above. With numerous keyboard layouts (including split) configurable separately for portrait and landscape modes you have a highly customisable keyboard that allows you to create that unique look from seemingly endless possibilities.
Enabling KlearKeys on your device
After you have installed the app, you need to configure your device to use it. The exact procedure will vary depending on the version of Android you are using, but the general method is as follows.1. Navigate to "Settings > Language and Input > Configure Input Methods". You should see KlearKeys in a list of possible input methods.
2. Tick the check box next to KlearKeys to enable it, and click OK on the standard warning message.
3. Go back to the "Language and Input" menu and select "Current Input Method". You should see KlearKeys in the list. Alternatively open an application that requires text input such as mail or messaging and long press the text area. In the popup menu that appears select "Input method".

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Cosmic Cow

Today's app of the day is Cosmic Cow.

"Endless" games are very in vogue at the moment, whether it be endless running, endless jumping or endless flapping, there are plenty of ways to get unlimited, and challenging gaming fixes. That doesn't mean that there aren't great new games being created in the genre, with Cosmic Cow being one such example.

In essence, Cosmic Cow combines two great styles of game play, one being a side scrolling endless-type game, and the other being the classic side scrolling space ship shooter, popularised in numerous incarnations on 8 and 16 bit consoles of decades past. As a "cosmic cow" (can't help but love it!), the player has to navigate through space, shooting or dodging asteroids and other attacking spaceships. The cow can collect a variety of objects to earn points - though mainly interesting foods that just happen to be floating through space. As points are accumulated, the player can also collect coins to spend on a v…
