Microsoft is actually a great Android developer - 'To-Do' is another reason why!

It may seem suprising to some, but Microsoft is actually a fantastic Android developer. In fact, I'd go as far to saythat their app offerings for Android are far superior to than their offerings for the Windows App store. For starters the full suite of Microsoft Office apps are great, as is one drive and one note, and the Arrow App Launcher is actually one of the best custom android skins available (seriously - check it out!).

To round this out, over the last few days Microsoft has released 'To-Do' which as you've guessed it - is a to-do list. It really could not be simpler - the app allows the creation of lists and then as part of each list allows tasks and items to be added.

The design is simple and clean, and a nice move away from the boxy interface design that still dominates some of the earlier Windows apps for android. It's fast, lightweight, cloud based (of course) and has a widget - so there is not much more you could ask for!

Of course there is lots of co…

e-path: the game

Today's app of the day is e-path.

E-path is a great new puzzle game for Android devices that should find a place in the hearts of anyone who enjoys a good challenge. As with all good mobile games, the concept behind e-path is very simple, but the execution and options really expand the challenge to keep players coming back for more.

In short, the object it to more a ball (the e-ball) around a grid from the start to the finish. Along the way, the ball has to land on every square of the grid at least once, which 'powers it up'. If any squares are not powered up, then in short, you lose.

This sounds simple enough, but the gameplay increases in difficulty through blocks, free squares which you can move through, teleports, or even squares which expel fire in an attempt to harm the e-ball. There are two basic gameplay modes - the general 'origin' mode which has the player move around a single grid, and the 'teleport' mode which sees the player jump between a number of different grids (or around a single grid) in an attempt to power up all the squares. There are plenty of levels (120 in face) across the different modes to keep even dedicated players busy.

Additionally, there is also the ability to create custom maps, and shortly, to share them with friends. This will really make the amount of gameplay within e-path limitless. When you throw in an active developer who has promised new levels, and even ranked matched, you really can't go wrong.

Finally, as I have stated - although the gameplay is great, the sound and graphics are also simple, but effective, giving a sense of  polish which really makes this a good mobile experience. All in all, this is an excellent Android App, and well worth to be the Droid App of the Day. Download now.

In the words of the developer:

e-path the game. Use the e-ball to activate all squares before you reach the end
E-Path
“In a world of shadows, without energy, only hope remains…” E-Path, the logic game and maze where you have to use the e-ball to activate all squares of the map to compete it. Everything becomes more amazing when you need to apply your abilities to overcome obstacles!
E-Path: The Story
In a postapocaliptic world where the existent energy is not enough, where the sun is fading away, a new energy source is created: E-Path! These gigantic power stations would supply the world with energy, however…
… another wave of destruction impeded any chance of starting them. Now obstacles will make it harder for you, having to avoid squares expelling fire, blocking squares and even teleports making the path more complex as the player completes the maps.
Will you activate the E-Paths?
History mode:
120 maps in the first four E-Path power stations! Complete 30 maps in Central Path Origen, Teleport, North and Sec.
Challenge:
Create your own maps using the map generator implemented in the game! Are you looking for your own challenges? You have it now!
The New Central Path world will be available in the following months.

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Hearthstone - better late than never - the best android card game!

I'll cut to it - Hearthstone is one of the best games you can get for your Android device - in fact, I am sure that plenty of people would argue it is one of the best games you can get at all - even on a PC! With that in mind, there's no reason not to jump in now and start experiencing this great offering from Blizzard.
The gameplay is turn based card strategy, think Magic the Gathering, but fare more simple. Every turn the number of points you have to spend on cards increases, so it means that games start quite evenly handed but can escalate quickly, especially when more experienced players know how to string together the abilities of their cards.
The objective is to eliminate the health of your opponent - and once you succeed the victory is entirely satisfying, with some truly fantastic sounds and effects that drive home the sense of achievement. This is of course a free to play game, and it is possible to spend real world money in the store but it is not required to have …
