FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Go Make it Rain

Today's app of the day is Go Make it Rain.

The variety of apps available on Google Play always manages to astound me, and just when I think I may have seen the kookiest app out there, designed to fill the most obscure niche in existence, another app pops it's head from the charts for review. Welcome - Go Make it Rain!

A) Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill of being basked in crisp dollar bills, fleeting and falling in spins and twirls from the sky? B) Have you ever wished you could capture and share this moment for all the world too see? C) Have you never had the hard currency or a camera with a fast enough shutter-speed to achieve A and B above? If yes then - D) would you be satisfied for this all to be achieved from your Android phone with virtual, 3D rendered currency? If yes, then E) - Download Go Make it Rain.. NOW!

As niche as an app this may be, the actual build design is fantastic, with great menus, a clean interface, plenty of unlock-able currency's, brilli…

Jump Out

Today's app of the day is Jump Out.

Jump Out is an excellent new android app from developer Tap TapBoom Games. Like all great mobile games, the concept is simple but the execution is flawless and Jump Out is no exception. Game play involves trying to help a variety of insects escape (or Jump Out did someone say?) from within the 4 walls of their box. Within the box are a variety of cogs, fans, traps, barricades and most importantly stars. The object is to free the insects and collect the stars in the process. This has to be achieved in a limited amount of jumps, as too many jumps will see your insect become concussed and unable to escape!

The controls are great - anyone familiar with Angry Birds will be right at home here, you simply click on an insect to launch it and a helpful 'arc' will show you the intended trajectory. Once you complete levels you are scored in the classic 1- 3 star rating system, with more levels and bonuses unlocking as the game proceeds. The difficult…

Contactive - Free Caller ID

Today's app of the day is Contactive.

With the wealth of apps, games and functions available on modern smartphones, it is often the core feature of a phone (making and receiving calls) that goes overlooked by developers.  In that, I mean that the actual keypad, address books and dial screens are often dull, difficult to navigate / use and do not utilize the full power of a modern android device.
Contactive is an attempt to change this, with a fresh take on the phone book (contact list), dial pad and incoming / outgoing call screens (amongst other things). At the heart of this application is the integration of social networks into your calling experience, allowing you to very easily browse a snapshot of a person, such as their last locations and updates, either as you have an incoming call or as you are browsing the address book.
Not only can this save you at times when you get a call and have a mental blank about who is getting in touch, but is also a great way of screening calls f…

Watson

Today's app of the day is Watson.

If you live a life that finds you timing lots of different things, that Watson is the ultimate stopwatch and timer application currently available in the Google Play store. Whether it be in the kitchen, the gym, on an athletics oval, or even for work purposes, there are plenty of reasons to not only record the amount of time it takes to achieve tasks, but then to be able to easily retrieve those times as a comparable record. Watson allows all this and more, making it the most feature packed timing app available. The first thing you will notice upon loading the application is the fantastic user interface. Watson consists of multiple tabs that you can use to break all your timings into different catagories. Under each category you can have an endless number of timers running. It looks great, is easy to navigate, and is simple to set up. Timers can be stopped and started without affecting anything else under the different tabs, and even when the applica…

Taste Filter

Today's app of the day is Taste Filter.

There are a variety of music streaming applications available on Google Play these days, whether it be Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, or a massive array of offerings from global mega-corporations to small start-ups. They all seem to vary in the size of their music collection, the quality of their streaming and the interfaces of their apps. With all these options available to listen to music, what is often missing is a way of determine "what" music to actually listen to. Other offerings provide some support for this with 'radio' stations based on an artist, but none truly generate listening suggestions off more than what I would call, 'a hunch'.

This is where Taste Filter steps in, taking the process of music discovery and updating it to the era of streaming music, tablets and smart phones. The concept is simple - all a user needs to do is start up the application and then search for an artist or song they like. Taste Filte…

Car Dashroid (Car Dashboard)

Today's app of the day is Car Dashroid (Car Dashboard).

These days, most people use their phones for all manner of purposes, including as a GPS when commuting. Although it is great to have this functionality, most phones can be difficult to navigate and use whilst driving safely.

Of course, voice control has gone some way to solve this problem, but at the end of the day nothing is faster than simply typing or tapping what you want to achieve. To solve this problem, developer Nezdroid Apps has released Car Dashroid.

Put your phone in a dock (if you have one available), or just perch it in a convenient place and Car Dashroid will quickly convert your phone into the most feature packed GPS unit available. If you look at the scree shots below you will see what I mean – with large icons, easy to touch dialers, quick access to your favourite apps and Music collections, the weather, etc – all the most common functions you use on your device whilst driving will be easily ‘in reach.

King Fighter 4 - the final of the king fighter series

Today's app of the day is King Fighter 4.

King Fighter 4 is an arcade & action game published by LongLife Apps. I have played King Fighter 1, 2 and 3 before, but I don’t remember which developer they belong to. It seems that it is not LongLife Apps that published them. But it doesn’t matter. What really matters is that I love this game and it is really fantastic!

King Fighter 4 is the newest one of the king fighter series, and I think it could be the last and best one. And of course, it may not, either.
At the very beginning when you start this game, you will be attracted by its marvelous pictures and game scenes. It is a classic Role-playing game and also it is arcade & action game. There is a huge story behind the game, which is about 2 people, one is the Assassin of the Dark and the other is Saint Girl of Light. There are conspiracies between them, and their fates are united to each other, and their fates are incredibly miserable.
The graphics of this game is wonderful. The…
