Microsoft is actually a great Android developer - 'To-Do' is another reason why!

It may seem suprising to some, but Microsoft is actually a fantastic Android developer. In fact, I'd go as far to saythat their app offerings for Android are far superior to than their offerings for the Windows App store. For starters the full suite of Microsoft Office apps are great, as is one drive and one note, and the Arrow App Launcher is actually one of the best custom android skins available (seriously - check it out!).

To round this out, over the last few days Microsoft has released 'To-Do' which as you've guessed it - is a to-do list. It really could not be simpler - the app allows the creation of lists and then as part of each list allows tasks and items to be added.

The design is simple and clean, and a nice move away from the boxy interface design that still dominates some of the earlier Windows apps for android. It's fast, lightweight, cloud based (of course) and has a widget - so there is not much more you could ask for!

Of course there is lots of co…

Car Dashroid (Car Dashboard)

Today's app of the day is Car Dashroid (Car Dashboard).

These days, most people use their phones for all manner of purposes, including as a GPS when commuting. Although it is great to have this functionality, most phones can be difficult to navigate and use whilst driving safely.

Of course, voice control has gone some way to solve this problem, but at the end of the day nothing is faster than simply typing or tapping what you want to achieve. To solve this problem, developer Nezdroid Apps has released Car Dashroid.

Put your phone in a dock (if you have one available), or just perch it in a convenient place and Car Dashroid will quickly convert your phone into the most feature packed GPS unit available. If you look at the scree shots below you will see what I mean – with large icons, easy to touch dialers, quick access to your favourite apps and Music collections, the weather, etc – all the most common functions you use on your device whilst driving will be easily ‘in reach.

With the ability to customise certain screens, a speedometer, shortcut slots to 16 apps and much more – there is no reason not to download Car Dashroid. All in all, an excellent app.

In the words of the developer:

Car Dashdroid has all the features you need to make your drive even easier. You can use Smart Dial to quickly find and call your contacts, can search and view contact information, and can browse through groups with ease.
and groups in a fancy way, you can view contact info Search contacts and add Shortcuts of apps. You can set the Music App and Navigation App for easy launch. The Best Car Dashboard for you car out there.

With 16 slots on the dashboard, you can access up to 16 of your favorite apps with just a touch.
On the main screen, you'll find four Quick Access shortcuts, which you can customize to open your preferred music and navigation apps. You can enable a speedometer to view your GPS-indicated speed, and can keep an eye on the weather outside (Yahoo! Weather).

You can even enable Car Dashdroid to launch automatically when you dock it with a supported car accessory! Only some accessories are supported right now, but I'm working to grow the list. if you have any doubt, let me know before leave bad review to fix the problem. Any issue or feature request send me an email to n3zdroid@gmail.com

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Hearthstone - better late than never - the best android card game!

I'll cut to it - Hearthstone is one of the best games you can get for your Android device - in fact, I am sure that plenty of people would argue it is one of the best games you can get at all - even on a PC! With that in mind, there's no reason not to jump in now and start experiencing this great offering from Blizzard.
The gameplay is turn based card strategy, think Magic the Gathering, but fare more simple. Every turn the number of points you have to spend on cards increases, so it means that games start quite evenly handed but can escalate quickly, especially when more experienced players know how to string together the abilities of their cards.
The objective is to eliminate the health of your opponent - and once you succeed the victory is entirely satisfying, with some truly fantastic sounds and effects that drive home the sense of achievement. This is of course a free to play game, and it is possible to spend real world money in the store but it is not required to have …

UNCHARTED: Fortune Hunter - continue Drake's adventure on your phone!

It's been a while now since Uncharted 4 was released though to date it is still one of the best games on the PS4. At the time of its release, a lot of people might not have noticed that an Android entry into the Uncharted series was also released. Now I'm late to the party on this one but I think it's well worth checking out - better late than never!

The game is in the style of the 'Go' games that are really popular, such as Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go. The gameplay sees you move from square to square on a map trying to unlock a series of objectives or reach a destination. It's a polished game with great sound, graphics and gameplay. Strongly recommended!
