FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Android Temperature

Today's app of the day is Android Temperature.

Sometimes, the best things are those that do a few simple things, but do it incredibly well. As the famous saying goes - keep it simple! This is where application's such as Android Temperature shine, taking a simple, everyday task, but perfecting the user experience for performing that task.
Upon loading Android Temperature, the app uses your devices GPS to quickly find your location. It tells you your current address, and includes the temperature on the screen. Interestingly, the app tells you how accurate the GPS signal is - with mine getting down to three metres during testing!
From there, you can click a button called 'Details' which will fade to a more comprehensive screen of weather, including the humidity, wind speed, sunrise, sunset and general conditions. Another button 'Nest Days' then becomes available, allowing you to see a five day forecast. This is really useful for those wanting to plan in advance.

Hidden Object Adventure - Where is my stuff?

Today's app of the day is Hidden Object Adventure - Where is my stuff?

In my opinion, point and click adventure gaming is experiencing a renaissance - thankfully brought on by touch screen devices such as android phones and tablets. Gone are the restrictions of chunky desktops and mouses - instead point and click gaming is now available, open and embraced by the masses, with plenty of quality titles available in Google Play.

Hidden Object is one such title, Giving you the chance to stand in the shoes of Edward for a day, exploring his house room by room, and gradually collecting all his lost items. The game starts off with Edward waking up, not remembering entirely what happened the evening before (few too many drinks maybe?). Your challenge is to help Edward find all of his prized belongings so that he can get to work.

This game essentially operates like a find a word, but instead of finding hidden words amongst a grid of letters, you need to find hidden objects amongst a detailed d…

tic tac ph0to

Today's app of the day is tic tac ph0to .

There are plenty of app available for android that allow you to take photos and share them with friends, however the social functionality for all of these apps is largely the same, being the ability to 'like' an image and leave comments. Tic tac ph0to takes this simple concept, but twists it sideways and adds a gaming element, allowing you take photos but turn it into a collaborative project with friends and family, with the object being to create stunning montages.

This isn't a competitive game, but instead one where you work together with the other play to "create". Players take it in turns filling in a 3x3 grid with images, either from their camera or gallery. Games can be either public or private, with public games visible to all and incorporating the ability to "like" and comment.

Once completed games can be easily shared and saved, with the app featuring the ability to post directly to Facebook, Twitter or…

Judah Mahay, Author

Today's app of the day is Judah Mahay, Author.

Judah Mahay is a writer and activist, raised in Alaska and currently living in New York. His writing is diverse, offering a unique insight into life, culture and society. For fans of Judah Mahay and his work, his lastest endeavour sees his writing made available on Google Play through a great new application - Judah Mahay Author. For those not familiar, there has never been a better time or way to get reading - and best of all - it is free!

Once installed, Judah's application allows the user to quickly access a large amount of content at absolutely no expense. This includes 10 short stories and 15 poems. If you like what you read, it is then possible to purchase additional content from directly with the application - it could not be easier. The app also includes notifications for new works, and Twitter integration  allowing you to easily join Judah and his followers in conversation.

Reading within the app is a pleasure, with a crisp …

Word Search For Kids 2

Today's app of the day is Word Search For Kids 2.

These days, there are more apps on android than any person could reasonably hope to experience. A relatively late comer to this app scene though, are those games focused on the kids market. That is quickly changing however, with quality applications and games such as Word Search for Kids 2 becoming more popular.

Drawing on the foundation of Word Search for Kids, the sequel makes improvements at every step of the way, from the graphics, to the general, "play-ability". The concept is simple, and sticks to the tried and tested find-a-word formula, being to locate a list of words in straight lines amongst a grid of letters. There are over 200 words to be found, broken up across 20 levels.

The difficulty here is where the game will really reward kids, with the words not being too hard, but also not being too easy - they are "just right" - which will make playing this game not only fun, but also an educational experience…

iExpense Diary

Today's app of the day is iExpense Diary.

These days, there is a lot to spend our hard earned money on. It is a simple statement, but it rings true more now than ever before, as the options that we have to keep ourselves entertained expand on a daily basis. Further to this, the manner in which we actually transfer and spend money seems to grow at a similarly exponential rate. The cash economy is well and truly on the way out, and instead plastic cards, wireless NFC purchases and online transfers are the way of the future. This is great for consumers, as one can not complain about choice - but it can making keeping track of spending very difficult! If there is one thing we all know - spending that is not closely monitored can quickly spiral out of control.

This is where iExpense Diary steps in, making keep track of income and expenditure a breeze, all from the convenience of your Android device. There are a number of money management apps for Android, but iExpense Diary is by far one…
