FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Inspirational Quotes

Today's app of the day is Inspirational Quotes.

Yesterday I reviewed an app called Funny Quotes, for the lighter side of utterings from notable people of history. Every now and then though, it is nice to explore the more serious side of quotations - and that is when Inspirational Quotes is a fantastic resource! If you want to feel up-lifted, motivated and inspired, then it makes sense to install Inspirational Quotes on your Android smartphone or tablet.

Inspirational Quotes packs a massive number of quotes and allows you to explore the database in a variety of ways. You can cycle through the quotes, favourite the quotes, randomise your cycle through the quotes and view a 'quote of the day.' There are literally thousands of quotes available, so there is plenty to keep even the most avid reader occupied!

Another great feature is the ability to 'use' the quotes. They can be copy and pasted, and easily shared with friends across social networks such as Facebook and Twitte…

Funny Quotes

Today's app of the day is Funny Quotes.

Whether you like them or not, there is no avoiding that there is a time and a place for reciting quotes. Unfortunately, you usually end up sound like a pretentious fool, using a quote to explain a concept far beyond your realm of understanding. Luckily, the use of quotations does not always have to be so serious - and with the creation of Funny Quotes, it is now easier than ever to have some light hearted fun reading and reciting the words of others.

Funny quotes has an enormous database of quotes, that can be easily cycled through. It is fast and responsive and includes some great features such as the ability to jump to random quotes, and the ability to easily share a quote with friends. This can lead to some fantastic SMS messages!

All in all, this is a great new android app that should give you a few chuckles and surprise you with some of the great things people from history have uttered. If you are not convinced - check out these great comm…

ZZ Gram

Today's app of the day is ZZ Gram.

ZZ Gram is a fantastic new android application that allows you to add simply add a layer of sound to your images, then share those image+sound combination with your friends. It is a great way to add some more context to an imagine, or even to leave notes about where you were and what the photo is of.

At the beach? Simply load your picture, then press record and capture the sounds of the waves crashing and children playing. At a concert? What better way to remember it than a picture with sound and screaming blaring in the background! On a holiday but have trouble remembering where all your pictures were taken? Simply load ZZ Gram at the end of the day and work through your images, recording personal notes and antidotes.

Once you have your image and sound captured, the combination can be easily shared with your friends via MMS or Bluetooth or uploaded to a variety of social networks, including direct Facebook and Twitter integration. ZZ gram is free f…

Give to a great cause...

This isn't your usual app review, but I figured if I operate a website, then the odd bit of cross promotion should be one of the perks - especially if it is for a great cause. In short, I have a close friend with Cystic Fibrosis, and am doing my part to help raise some money a the local Cystsic Fibrosis association.

Any donation at all would be appreciated! If you are interested - head to my profile.

Check out more about the ACT Cystic Fibrosis Association here.

Today's app of the day is Tracday.

There are quite a few workout apps available for Android devices, but unfortunately many of them are excessively complicated and involve convoluted set-ups and configuration. Tracday sets to change that by being lightweight, simple to use and ready to go with a few simple clicks. It also looks great, being a real pleasure to use. In short, Tracday allows you to focus on your workout rather than your smartphone.

After booting the app, users are presented with a simple log in screen. The developer has allowed both Facebook and email logins, or even the ability the app without signing in. This is great for those users who just want a simple work out tracker without all the additional bells and whistles such as online synchronisation with the Tracday website, or the ability to follow friends workouts. For the full experience, singing up is absolutely recommended.

Following this, it is straight into a workout. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less - …

Malia Life

Today's app of the day is Malia Life.

Malia is a small coastal town and a former municipality in the northeast corner of the Heraklion regional unit, Crete, Greece. With a population of only just over 6000, it could be easily overlooked on the map, but that would be a regrettable error - as you would be passing over one of the best times out in Europe. Malia is actually renown for its night-life - making it one of the wildest resorts in Greece - and now the Malia Life Android application aims to make enjoying this destination just a little bit easier!

Malia Life is the best way to get the most out of your time in Malia, making it simple to find  the latest events, bars and clubs, and generally, what is happening. Once the app is loaded, you can click on an events tab and find everything that is happening over the next few days. You can read about events, comment on them, confirm your attendance and even browse pictures in the gallery. A really cool feature is the ability to add the …

Hill Bill

Today's app of the day is Hill Bill.

I still remember the first time I played Excitebike on the NES - I was hooked immediately. Since that time I have always stayed a fan of side scrolling motorcycle games, enjoying nothing more than pulling off tricks as I make ridiculous jumps, with no fear of death or injury. Fast forward 19 years from the original Excitebike, and say hello to Hill Bill. So where has 2 decades taken the side scrolling bike racing genre? A long way is the answer - with Hill Bill being a well worthy recommendation for any Android gamer.

Hill Bill requires you to progress your motorobike rider through a series of levels, collecting starts and pulling off tricks. Depending on your performance you will get a start rating (1 - 3) and then progress to the next level. Points are also achieved for a variety of other things, such as hitting birds in the air (always satisfying!)

With 60 levels available across 6 different worlds, there is plenty of content here to keep even …

Legend Online: Dragons

Today's app of the day is Legends Online: Dragons.

There are plenty of great RPGs to chose from on PC's, any plenty more of them that are of the "Massive, Multi-player"variety. Legends Online: Dragons is an attempt to capture that depth and style of game play and transfer it to the mobile platform. This is an ambitious task, but thankfully, developer FreeThought has pulled it off. The results are a highly satisfying, polished android gaming experience, that should keep even the most die hard RPG fans happy.

Setting up Legends Online: Dragons could not be easier. After a quick install and load, the game boots into a short story and a character selection screen. After selecting a character (having to choose between a typical assortment of RPG charavters, each with their strengths and weaknesses) you will be thrown into your first battle. Nothing is really required for victory the first time round (as it is more of a demo), but I was immediately impressed by the quality o…

Free Translate

Today's app of the day is Free Translate.

It is an old saying that the world is becoming smaller, and although this is not true in a physical sense, technology has made even the most far reaches of the globe more accessible than ever before. With it now possible to fly through cities from the comfort of your chair using Google Earth, the places you have always wanted to go for holiday, never feel far away. Interestingly, this hasn't lead to a generation of arm chair vacationers, but instead has sparked the curiosity in the world, with international travel and holidays never being as affordable, or as common a part of life. Additionally, technology has meant that business and friendships are not restrained by geography or language. Instead friendships and business relationships cross international borders and vast oceans without hesitation, forming stronger bonds than has ever existed in the past....

I know the above all sounds slightly romantic, but I could not think of a more a…
