Microsoft is actually a great Android developer - 'To-Do' is another reason why!

It may seem suprising to some, but Microsoft is actually a fantastic Android developer. In fact, I'd go as far to saythat their app offerings for Android are far superior to than their offerings for the Windows App store. For starters the full suite of Microsoft Office apps are great, as is one drive and one note, and the Arrow App Launcher is actually one of the best custom android skins available (seriously - check it out!).

To round this out, over the last few days Microsoft has released 'To-Do' which as you've guessed it - is a to-do list. It really could not be simpler - the app allows the creation of lists and then as part of each list allows tasks and items to be added.

The design is simple and clean, and a nice move away from the boxy interface design that still dominates some of the earlier Windows apps for android. It's fast, lightweight, cloud based (of course) and has a widget - so there is not much more you could ask for!

Of course there is lots of co…

Today's app of the day is Tracday.

There are quite a few workout apps available for Android devices, but unfortunately many of them are excessively complicated and involve convoluted set-ups and configuration. Tracday sets to change that by being lightweight, simple to use and ready to go with a few simple clicks. It also looks great, being a real pleasure to use. In short, Tracday allows you to focus on your workout rather than your smartphone.

After booting the app, users are presented with a simple log in screen. The developer has allowed both Facebook and email logins, or even the ability the app without signing in. This is great for those users who just want a simple work out tracker without all the additional bells and whistles such as online synchronisation with the Tracday website, or the ability to follow friends workouts. For the full experience, singing up is absolutely recommended.

Following this, it is straight into a workout. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less - simply sign up then get exercising. Work-outs can be quickly selected from a quick drop down menu, and with over 60 to choose from most sports and exercise should be covered. Once your exercise is selected you simply press START and let Tracday do the rest. Once the work out is complete you can see your calories burnt, distance, max speeds, average speed and time.

All in all, this is an excellent android app, perfect for those who want to stay on top of their exercise regimes. Spend more time focused on yourself rather than complicated apps, and download Tracday now!

In the words of the developer:

The Tracday application is lightweight and useful tool to track and record GPS routes of your workouts and get numbers out of what you do - be it walking, running or winning Tour de France. Calories, distances, timings and everything in between - we track and collect for you.
Once done with workout, all data is synchronized with website, where you can view, share and keep an eye on all your workouts. It's always interesting to see your split times, see graphs and use other useful tools to evaluate your workout, isn't it?
It’s that simple, because it should be that simple!
• Track your everyday workouts without losing focus
• 60 awesome sport activities to do
• Lightweight and non distracting user interface
• Workout history
• Automatic workout synchronization with website
• Details and statistics of your workout on
• Follow your friends and see what they are up to

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Hearthstone - better late than never - the best android card game!

I'll cut to it - Hearthstone is one of the best games you can get for your Android device - in fact, I am sure that plenty of people would argue it is one of the best games you can get at all - even on a PC! With that in mind, there's no reason not to jump in now and start experiencing this great offering from Blizzard.
The gameplay is turn based card strategy, think Magic the Gathering, but fare more simple. Every turn the number of points you have to spend on cards increases, so it means that games start quite evenly handed but can escalate quickly, especially when more experienced players know how to string together the abilities of their cards.
The objective is to eliminate the health of your opponent - and once you succeed the victory is entirely satisfying, with some truly fantastic sounds and effects that drive home the sense of achievement. This is of course a free to play game, and it is possible to spend real world money in the store but it is not required to have …

UNCHARTED: Fortune Hunter - continue Drake's adventure on your phone!

It's been a while now since Uncharted 4 was released though to date it is still one of the best games on the PS4. At the time of its release, a lot of people might not have noticed that an Android entry into the Uncharted series was also released. Now I'm late to the party on this one but I think it's well worth checking out - better late than never!

The game is in the style of the 'Go' games that are really popular, such as Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go. The gameplay sees you move from square to square on a map trying to unlock a series of objectives or reach a destination. It's a polished game with great sound, graphics and gameplay. Strongly recommended!
