FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Pextr

Today's app of the day is Pextr.

There are so many ways to share photos and art these days online. The trouble is that getting noticed from within this vast array of content is virtually impossible. You either have to be amazing, or really lucky - with most of the time things falling the way of luck! Pextr looks to change all that, offering an intuitive way to share content and get noticed. Best of all, it means you won't feel your content is getting 'lost' in the ocean that is the web - instead you will get some guaranteed feedback - making this a great app to install ASAP!

Once you load the app, you are presented with a simple registration screen. Sign up is a breeze, and from there it is straight into the creation. You can take a picture, then can draw over the top of the creation (in a manner similar to SnapChat). From there is is a simple manner of pressing send, and your picture automatically gets sent to three users for their 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down'. In a sense, this 'gamifies' photograph, which is fantastic! It works as follows:

As you can see from the above - once u take the picture you can progress by 'levelling up'which really makes the entire app a quite addictive experience! If taking pictures is not enough, then there is a great ability to simply browse through other users Pextrs and rate them. This is an excellent time killer!

All in all, I was really impressed by Pextr - it is a great smooth app, with a lot of potential! Keep reading below for a great offer for new users...

In the words of the developer:

View and rate random photos from around the world. Create and share your own photo art.
Each picture is sent to three random Pextr users. The best part is that with every like, the picture will be shared with three additional users.
There's no need for followers. Have fun, earn points and recognition along the way.
Spread your creativity - install Pextr on your Android phone today. It's awesome and free!
Quick Pextr Points:
- Pext is a photo with optional drawing - similar to text messages, but way cooler.
- Your pext will be viewed by at least three people, and many more with every positive rating!
- No need to worry about “friends” or followers.
- Share random pexts to other Pextrs around the world.
- Collect points, reach levels and earn recognition.

As stated earlier, the developer of Pextr wanted to thank early adopters by running a contest for earning 1000 + points. The winners get a great t-shirt so check it out!

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Cosmic Cow

Today's app of the day is Cosmic Cow.

"Endless" games are very in vogue at the moment, whether it be endless running, endless jumping or endless flapping, there are plenty of ways to get unlimited, and challenging gaming fixes. That doesn't mean that there aren't great new games being created in the genre, with Cosmic Cow being one such example.

In essence, Cosmic Cow combines two great styles of game play, one being a side scrolling endless-type game, and the other being the classic side scrolling space ship shooter, popularised in numerous incarnations on 8 and 16 bit consoles of decades past. As a "cosmic cow" (can't help but love it!), the player has to navigate through space, shooting or dodging asteroids and other attacking spaceships. The cow can collect a variety of objects to earn points - though mainly interesting foods that just happen to be floating through space. As points are accumulated, the player can also collect coins to spend on a v…
