FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

Space Bubble Shooter

Today's app of the day is Space Bubble Shooter.

There are plenty of 'bubble burst'style games available on Google Play, but their quality often leaves a lot to be desired. I contrast, Space Bubble Shooter is one of the best examples of the genre I have ever stumbled across, going from a one-off-install to an essential application on my smartphone overnight. It looks, sounds and plays fantastically, with gorgeous sharp colours and shapes, catchy trance backing sounds and touch based controls that work as well, if not better than any of the competition!

For those who have not played this style of game before, the concept is simple, but the tactics are surprisingly deep. The objective is to launch coloured balls upwards, connecting three or more of the same colour in a row. Once connected, those balls will drop off the screen, with the objective usually being to clear the level of all balls within the fastest time possible to get a higher star rating.

To spice things up a little…

There is so much content available for our consumption these days, that sometimes working out the best way to find, download and view the content can be difficult. When you add to that that content is available for all manner of devices, from PCs to video game consoles and now mobile devices, the equation becomes even more complex. To assist with this problem, developer Pearl Street has released a great new android app - Media Mega Search Free.

The concept behind Media Mega Search Free is simple. Sport Tagger Player Analysis

Today's app of the day is Sport Tagger Player Analysis.

For those who play a lot of football, coach football teams, or are big fans of fantasy football, it is a well known facts that keeping track of performance through statistics is essential. In the past this has been complex and cumbersome -  but Sport Tagger Player Analysis aims to make this a more straight forward process through a great new android app, available now on Google Play.

The goal of the app is essentially to make player analysis better and easier than it has ever been before. Once starting up the app player names can easily be entered and from there they can be tagged whilst watching either a live game or something on the television. Once tagged, you can rate the certain task they just performed (passing, etc), recording performance in a quick and intuitive way. In addition to the simple tagging function there is also a great ability to record notes throughout a game, or take notes - perfect for the coach or analys…

Walking 3D Dead LWP Free

Today's app of the day is Walking 3D Dead LWP Free.

There are countless live wallpapers available on Google Play, many of varying quality. Trust me, as part of running this website I have tried and tested a lot. For the most part I tend not to feature too many on this site, as at the end of a day - how special can a wallpaper be? Every now and then however, one will come along that really blows me away. That happened for me earlier this week when I discovered Walking 3D Dead LWP Free - in short a 3D walking dead live wallpaper.

Checking out the video above is probably the best way to get a true appreciation for the wallpaper. In short though, it shows a variety of walking dead scenes with classic 'pop'styling - complete with speech bubbles. What really makes this live wallpaper stand out from the crowd though is the layering effect between the different scenes. As you swipe, the images ''closer" to the front of the screen will move at a faster pace than those th…

World of Paint - Puzzle

Today's app of the day is World of Paint - Puzzle.

There is no denying that there are lots of great games on Google Play, but at the same time, there is a complete lack of originality. If one game is even slightly successful, 1000s of almost identical spin-off appear within weeks (ala Flappy Bird), which bogs down the app store in un-originality. Every now and then though, a game comes along with a new concept that is truly fresh and original. World of Paint is one such game, and comes very highly recommend.

The core game mechanic in World of Paint sees you control a ball around a level, trying to get it from a starting location to a chequered finish point. To do so, you have to steer the ball, not using tilt control as is generally the case in these games, but by using paint. Now this sounds confusing, but works in an amazingly intuitive way, with each different colour of paint causing the ball to move in a different direction. You cant simply draw straight lines though. No, as the …

Squishy Fruit

Today's app of the day is Squishy Fruit.

It feels like every day that a new Android game will be released, promising to be the next Angry Birds of Flappy Birds - attempting to take a simple gaming concept and hook you in. Unfortunately, not all games deliver on this promise and many end up being blatant, poorly executed, rip-offs. Luckily, this is not the case with Squishy Fruit, a great game available now on Google play for Free!
Squishy Fruits is essentially a tablet version of whack-a-mole where you have to use your reflexes to squish fruit as it pops its head out of the ground. The concept is simply but the execution is near flawless with cartoon based music, crisp sounds, bright graphics and best of all - fun gameplay!
The object is to be as accurate as possible, and as things speed up this gets increasingly difficult, as new forms of objects become available to squish (maggots and other bugs for example). Luckily, the game provides you with a  variety of power-ups to make the ta…

Find the City

Today's app of the day is Find the City.

Geography is one of those subject matters that people either 'get' or will struggle with their entire life. For some of us, the difference between Austria and Australia will never be apparent, and being able to distinguish between South Korea or Japan will be all but am impossibility. Luckily, for those who want to learn more about the world, or for those who want to use their knowledge competitively.

If this sounds like it could be something of interest, I can not recommend enough checking out Find the City, a great new android game by developer Brillisoft. Game-play involves trying to find a random city as quickly as possible - with the game flashing a name on the screen, and you having to pan and zoom until you are confident your cross-hairs are pointing to the right location. The closer and quicker you are to the location, the more points you will get.

Not only can you play alone, but you can also challenge your friends across a va…
