Microsoft is actually a great Android developer - 'To-Do' is another reason why!

It may seem suprising to some, but Microsoft is actually a fantastic Android developer. In fact, I'd go as far to saythat their app offerings for Android are far superior to than their offerings for the Windows App store. For starters the full suite of Microsoft Office apps are great, as is one drive and one note, and the Arrow App Launcher is actually one of the best custom android skins available (seriously - check it out!).

To round this out, over the last few days Microsoft has released 'To-Do' which as you've guessed it - is a to-do list. It really could not be simpler - the app allows the creation of lists and then as part of each list allows tasks and items to be added.

The design is simple and clean, and a nice move away from the boxy interface design that still dominates some of the earlier Windows apps for android. It's fast, lightweight, cloud based (of course) and has a widget - so there is not much more you could ask for!

Of course there is lots of co…

Best Card Games

There are plenty of great card games available for mobile devices, but sometimes it can be difficult to sort the good from the bad. To help you out I thought I would provide my suggestions for a few in today's post. These recommendations follow no real logic, but are just a few classic card games that I have enjoyed over the previous few years!

Spider Solitaire
Everyone loves solitaire, and in my opinion, there is no better version of it than Spider. Of course, many people are only familiar with the alternating suits style of poker populrised through Windows, but secretly bundled with all versions there was another version, just waiting to be explored. That version was Spider Solitaire, and in my opinion, is a far more challenging and rewarding version of the game. Change the settings to two suits, random deal, and you will truly have cause to be thankful if you manage to pull off a victory!

It couldn't be a review of the best card games available for mobile devices without including a poker game in the list, and in my opinion there is none better than WSOP. WSOP is a fantastic on-line poker platform that allows anyone to play and win real cash, from small penny tables right up to high stakes games at no limits tables. There is honestly a style of game and a level of risk within WSOP to suit poker players of all wealth and experience levels. From my experience, WSOP is well regulated, and I felt at ease putting money into the system. I felt even better taking it out though after managing to pull off a few victories! All in all, this is a fantastic poker app, great for new players and pros alike! Better than playing at a casino, this is the next evolution in online poker playing!

Phase 10
This game has been a classic in my family for over a decade now. Featuring bright, cards, there is actually a lot more to this game then the child like packaging may suggest. The electronic version is a perfect replica, so worth checking out! The game features the ability to play against 3 computer opponents, and is honestly one of the best looking games I have seen on a mobile platform. Colours are crisp and really pop off the screen, helped by excellent sound and genuinely high production values. Sure, it will cost you a few dollars to download, but in my opinion is well worth it.

Magic 2014
Arguably, the most popular trading card game around, Magic 2014 brings Magic: the Gathering faithfully to your mobile device. If you are a fan this will no doubt be of interest! Rather than sitting round tables getting your grimy fingers all over the cards - needing to invest in plastic sleeves and carrying boxes to keep everything in working condition, etc - why not download the electronic version and free yourself from the shackles of physical content!

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Hearthstone - better late than never - the best android card game!

I'll cut to it - Hearthstone is one of the best games you can get for your Android device - in fact, I am sure that plenty of people would argue it is one of the best games you can get at all - even on a PC! With that in mind, there's no reason not to jump in now and start experiencing this great offering from Blizzard.
The gameplay is turn based card strategy, think Magic the Gathering, but fare more simple. Every turn the number of points you have to spend on cards increases, so it means that games start quite evenly handed but can escalate quickly, especially when more experienced players know how to string together the abilities of their cards.
The objective is to eliminate the health of your opponent - and once you succeed the victory is entirely satisfying, with some truly fantastic sounds and effects that drive home the sense of achievement. This is of course a free to play game, and it is possible to spend real world money in the store but it is not required to have …
