Microsoft is actually a great Android developer - 'To-Do' is another reason why!

It may seem suprising to some, but Microsoft is actually a fantastic Android developer. In fact, I'd go as far to saythat their app offerings for Android are far superior to than their offerings for the Windows App store. For starters the full suite of Microsoft Office apps are great, as is one drive and one note, and the Arrow App Launcher is actually one of the best custom android skins available (seriously - check it out!).

To round this out, over the last few days Microsoft has released 'To-Do' which as you've guessed it - is a to-do list. It really could not be simpler - the app allows the creation of lists and then as part of each list allows tasks and items to be added.

The design is simple and clean, and a nice move away from the boxy interface design that still dominates some of the earlier Windows apps for android. It's fast, lightweight, cloud based (of course) and has a widget - so there is not much more you could ask for!

Of course there is lots of co…

Walking 3D Dead LWP Free

Today's app of the day is Walking 3D Dead LWP Free.

There are countless live wallpapers available on Google Play, many of varying quality. Trust me, as part of running this website I have tried and tested a lot. For the most part I tend not to feature too many on this site, as at the end of a day - how special can a wallpaper be? Every now and then however, one will come along that really blows me away. That happened for me earlier this week when I discovered Walking 3D Dead LWP Free - in short a 3D walking dead live wallpaper.

Checking out the video above is probably the best way to get a true appreciation for the wallpaper. In short though, it shows a variety of walking dead scenes with classic 'pop'styling - complete with speech bubbles. What really makes this live wallpaper stand out from the crowd though is the layering effect between the different scenes. As you swipe, the images ''closer" to the front of the screen will move at a faster pace than those that appear to be further to the back of the image. This created a real sense of 3D and gives the wallpaper a really subtle feel of life. It will honestly have you sitting on the spot swiping across your home-screens just so you can soak in the full effect - it is that cool!

The developer offers both free and paid versions of the app (links at the bottom of this article), but best of all, is really working hard to give fans something back. For example, if you head to the Facebook Page for the wallpaper, after reading some simple instructions here, you will have a chance to be 'zombie-fied' in future iterations of the app. If you try the free version and like what you see, I strongly suggest an upgrade. It doesn't cost much but includes far more variety in the zombies included. Well worth the investment in my opinion!

At the end of day, this is a great live wallpaper - in fact one of the best I have seen. If you have a phone up to it, I strongly suggest installing and giving this a try! Check it out now!

In the words of the developer:

Bringing comic sketch style zombies to life in 3D!
If you love biters and graphic novel style artwork, this is the Live Wallpaper for you.
Swipe left and right between screens to see the 3D effect.
If you enjoy this app, support us by getting the paid version - it has a wider swipe range and zombie speech bubbles. Not forgetting the possibility for you to be added as a zombie or survivor. See the full app for more details.
The camera movement is smooth and runs efficiently in the background.
Supports landscape and portrait mode on any screen resolution tablet.
We want you to enjoy this app so please let us know if you have any problems and we will do our best to help.
TO USE: Once installed go to your live wallpaper menu (usually a long press in an empty space on the home screen) choose "Set Wallpaper", then the area you want to it run, then live wallpapers and choose Walking Dead LWP. You can change the setting or just click "Set Wallpaper"
If you have any suggestions for future features or enhancements please let us know.

Note: Remember all Live Wallpapers use your device's resources alongside other apps and lower specification devices may encounter performance reductions or freezing. Always ensure your device is capable of running this Live Wallpaper before installing and running.

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Hearthstone - better late than never - the best android card game!

I'll cut to it - Hearthstone is one of the best games you can get for your Android device - in fact, I am sure that plenty of people would argue it is one of the best games you can get at all - even on a PC! With that in mind, there's no reason not to jump in now and start experiencing this great offering from Blizzard.
The gameplay is turn based card strategy, think Magic the Gathering, but fare more simple. Every turn the number of points you have to spend on cards increases, so it means that games start quite evenly handed but can escalate quickly, especially when more experienced players know how to string together the abilities of their cards.
The objective is to eliminate the health of your opponent - and once you succeed the victory is entirely satisfying, with some truly fantastic sounds and effects that drive home the sense of achievement. This is of course a free to play game, and it is possible to spend real world money in the store but it is not required to have …

UNCHARTED: Fortune Hunter - continue Drake's adventure on your phone!

It's been a while now since Uncharted 4 was released though to date it is still one of the best games on the PS4. At the time of its release, a lot of people might not have noticed that an Android entry into the Uncharted series was also released. Now I'm late to the party on this one but I think it's well worth checking out - better late than never!

The game is in the style of the 'Go' games that are really popular, such as Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go. The gameplay sees you move from square to square on a map trying to unlock a series of objectives or reach a destination. It's a polished game with great sound, graphics and gameplay. Strongly recommended!
