FaceApp - despite the controversy there's a reason it is popular!

FaceApp is high in the ranks of then Google Play store at the moment, and despite the controversies of white-washing, there's a reason. In short, it's really fun, simple to use and an all round well-designed app that has some great filters and effects.
The purpose of the app is simple - simply load it up, take a photo, play with a few dials and then before you know it there's your desired outcome - whether it be a new gender, a younger self, an older self - etc. You name it - FaceApp can do it.
Check it out today, it's one of those apps well worth downloading and spending a few minutes with!

9 Squares of Hell

Today's app of the day is 9 Squares of Hell.

There are plenty of great games for Android devices, but many developers seem content on purely copying the successes of others instead of devising original and compelling gameplay ideas. Luckily, every now and then a developer comes along and drops something truly unique into Google Play. For the time being, that game is 9 Squares of Hell.

As with all great mobile games, the concept is simple, but the gameplay is addictive, the graphics and sound are fantastic, and the 'one more try' appeal is stronger than any game I have ever played before. In short, you control a square which you have to progress through a side scrolling environment, jumping over obstacles. At it's core, this is a variation on the endless runner type of game (well, not truly endless, 9 stages), with there only being one button to control - the jump.

What sets 9 Squares of Hell apart from other mobile games is it's difficulty. Not since Flappy Bird have I played a game that is so infuriatingly difficult, yet so rewarding. This is a game where practice really will lead to perfection. You have to get the timing of every jump absolutely perfect, with it not being uncommon to have 100's of attempts at a stage before being able to nail it. It may sound frustrating, and it can be at times, but it is also a lot of fun.

The soundtrack and visuals of the game are fantastic. Simplicity really does pay off in the mobile market, and 9 Squares of Hell have crafted a beautiful game with bright colours that really pop off the screen. Add to this the typical 3 star rated levels, and you have a near perfect mobile game.

If you want to try something a bit different and put your timing and fine motor skills to the test - check out 9 Squares of Hell today - you won't regret it!

In the words of the developer:

9 squares of hell is a impossible style arcade game, where you have to jump with a square to avoid obstacles in the way. You can play single player mode where you will have to travel through 9 different stages of hell(Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery). You can also compete with your friends in endless mode of 9 squares of hell.
How to play:
★ To jump with a square you have to tap on the screen. If obstacles are near together hold your finger on the screen so square can make a continuous jump.
★ NOTE: Each time you finish (even if you finished it before) a level, you get 1,2 or 3 extra life for the infinite mode. Depending on how many stars you earn.
★ Google Play services
★ 9 different stages of hell(Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery)
★ Simple gameplay
★ Geometric shaped obstacles(triangles or squares)
Developing quality apps and games requires months of effort and dedication. To keep the development going and to recover our cost, this game uses ads for monetization. However, this game will not install any ad-related search bars on your phone or place ads in your notification bar.
For optimal performance, we recommend closing other applications and restarting your device before playing our horror style game.

Wish - shopping made fun - and easy - and cheap!

These days sites like Amazon or eBay make buying and selling online quick and easy. Unfortunately, sometimes the sheer breadth of products available (everything on earth!) makes it difficult to impulse buy or get the same experience one haves when wandering around a shop or past windows. Luckily, apps now exist to replicate that experience.

The best of the lot is Wish - which has the tagline 'shopping made fun' which could not be more true! When opening the app there are lots of categories to choose from, allowing you to pick the type of products you want to browse and going from there. Buying and checking out is only ever a few clicks away and if you are not careful you will very quickly load up on more products than you need!

I've launched sites that help out with buying cheap gadgets in the past, and it was heavily inspired by apps such as Wish which really allow someone to sit back and take pleasure in the shopping experience again! Download Wish now!

Cosmic Cow

Today's app of the day is Cosmic Cow.

"Endless" games are very in vogue at the moment, whether it be endless running, endless jumping or endless flapping, there are plenty of ways to get unlimited, and challenging gaming fixes. That doesn't mean that there aren't great new games being created in the genre, with Cosmic Cow being one such example.

In essence, Cosmic Cow combines two great styles of game play, one being a side scrolling endless-type game, and the other being the classic side scrolling space ship shooter, popularised in numerous incarnations on 8 and 16 bit consoles of decades past. As a "cosmic cow" (can't help but love it!), the player has to navigate through space, shooting or dodging asteroids and other attacking spaceships. The cow can collect a variety of objects to earn points - though mainly interesting foods that just happen to be floating through space. As points are accumulated, the player can also collect coins to spend on a v…
